Malani Fonseka wins award at Italian film festival

Sri Lanka's legendary film actress Malini Fonseka won the Best Actress award in the Custom category at the Levante International Film Festival (LIFF) held in Bari, Italy from 8th – 14th November.



Malini won the Best Actress award for her role as the domineering matriarch, "Sandhya Rani" in Prasanna Vithanage's critcally acclaimed movie Akasa Kusum (Flowers of the Sky). 

Malini has also been nominated for the Best Actress award at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards for the same role.
